Carol L. Spence, Rev, MIM, ThD, PhD
Professor Spence has been studying holistic arts since 1996 and was referred specifically to the field of Energy Medicine as means with which to find personal healing. Having successfully achieved that healing, she has made it her life’s work and has gone on to further her education and to pursue her doctoral degree in energy medicine and spiritual healing. Dr. Spence began her formal intuition medicine training at the Academy of Intuition Medicine in 2001 and received her Master in Intuition Medicine in 2003.
Carol’s passion is healing the whole person by honoring oneness of body, mind, and spirit as opposed to the approach of traditional medicine that the mind is separate from the body, the disease from the person. Her focus has become wellness through service, and it is her goal to help the individual maximize his or her wellness — physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, ideally avoiding illness due to stress-producing attitudes and behaviors. She bases her work on authenticity, integrity, principle and compassion.
In line with wellness through service, Rev. Spence is Chairman of the Board, Emeritus, of the Institute for Health and Healing, the integrative medicine branch of California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. As well, she has been a Chaplain at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California for the last four years. In 2000 she began publishing a newsletter for the chronically and terminally ill entitled, C is for CourageŽ, a publication whose goal is to promote wellness by nourishing the soul and enlivening the spirit through uplifting articles and poetry.
Carol’s business career spanned some 35 years, the last 15 of which were spent in real estate sales. In that profession she enjoyed the distinction of being the top producing real estate agent in the county in which she worked and one of the top-producing agents in the United States for many years. Carol majored in Social Science at the University of California, Berkeley, class of 1970.
