Vicki Noble, MA
Professor Vicki Noble is a feminist shamanic healer, independent scholar, author, and wisdom teacher whose Motherpeace tarot deck (co-created with Karen Vogel) has become a common language shared by contemporary women around the world. She has written three textbooks to accompany the cards, beginning with the classic Motherpeace: A Way to the Goddess, as well as the esoteric Motherpeace Tarot Playbook, written with astrologer Jonathan Tenney. Her recent book, Rituals and Practices with Motherpeace Tarot, presents the cards as a simple oracle for busy women to use in their everyday lives.
Vicki’s more general international teaching combines Buddhism, feminism, yoga, ritual, shamanism, and Goddess worship with a special focus on the continuous female lineage of ecstatic healing from ancient times to the present. She teaches in the Women’s Spirituality masters program the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology.
Professor Noble has published numerous other articles and books, including Shakti Woman: Feeling Our Fire, Healing Our World (The New Female Shamanism). Her recent work The Double Goddess: Women Sharing Power links the “Two Ladies“ of Crete to the Double Queens of Africa, Malta, Turkey, Iron Age Amazon Warrior-Priestess tribes, and Tibetan Buddhist Dakinis.
At home in Santa Cruz, California, near her daughters, Robyn and Brooke, Vicki enjoys spending time with her three grandchildren. She lives with her 24-year-old son Aaron about whom she wrote her 1994 book, Down Is Up For Aaron Eagle: A Mother’s Spiritual Journey with Down Syndrome.
