Accreditation Statement

California State Institutional Approval

The Degree Programs offered by Energy Medicine University have been reviewed, evaluated and approved by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education for the State of California and awarded “Institutional Approval.” The University faculty and administration qualifications have been reviewed and approved. The Bureau has determined that this institution’s operational plan satisfies the minimum standards listed in Education Code Section 94900 and 94915. This is the highest educational status awarded by the State of California.

State Approval is:

Certification that an institution meets statutory standards for integrity, financial stability, and educational quality, including the offering of bona fide instruction by qualified faculty and the appropriate assessment of student's achievement prior to, during, and at the end of its program.
Issued only after the school is visited by a review team. Review teams for schools consist of staff from the Bureau who are experts in the subject matter of the school's programs.
A guarantee of consumer protection with legislated tuition refund formulas, and student tuition recovery funds available should the institution breach its contract with the students.
Both a license to operate and certification that an institution meets statutory requirements for operation.
Administered by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education which serves as the state agency for approval and regulation of private postsecondary degree-granting and vocational education schools in California.

Accreditation Statement

Accreditation is not required in the United States for Universities to legally operate as degree-awarding institutions. In the US, accreditation with an independent association of schools is an optional, not mandatory, course of action that Universities can choose to establish. Most countries do not have independent University accreditation organizations; rather, assessment is performed by a government educational regulating organization, similar to our California State Education Bureau which grants legality.

The US Department of Education (USDE) does not grant accreditation, furthermore, accreditation organizations in the US are not USDE governed. The US accreditation organizations are private institutionalized boards which grant a peer-review status of “accreditation” to Universities who choose to submit to their board review process. Most countries do not have private organizations which review and approve Universities as “accredited.” The biggest benefit of accreditation is the ease of opportunity for students to apply for government financial aide.

Note: Transfer of credits between all universities, whether accredited or State approved, is always dictated by the policies of each university office of the registrar.
